Monte De Oro has a particularly beautiful tasting room and patio. A lot of detail went into making this place look top notch.

The wine at Monte De Oro is typical for the Temecula region. It's a gorgeous venue that is worth a tasting.
Overall, I felt the flavor is there, but the wine has minor flaws that prevent me from giving it a higher rating. There's strong potential for the wine here to get better. Wines to check out there are the 19' Cabernet Sauvignon, 19' Simplexity and 19' Syrah.

This wine is a bit funky. The flavor is Granny Smith apple with soft peach notes. The body is good, acidity is mild and texture is very smooth.
22' Synergy 65 Rose

This wine also has a funky aroma. The flavor is watermelon and peach with subtle cranberry notes. The body is good, acidity is mild and texture is also very smooth.
Note: The '65' in the wine title is a call back to the 65 original Monte De Oro winery owners.
19' Cabernet Sauvignon
19' Cabernet Sauvignon
This wine is a blend that is primarily Cab with some Malbec and Petit Verdot. It has a pepper and tobacco nose. The flavor is rich boysenberry with oak and earthly notes. The body is OK.
19' Zinfandel

This wine is also a bit funky. The flavor is berry and plum with an earthly finish. Acidity is high, tanins are medium and body is OK.
Note: This would be a great wine if not for the minor issues noted above.

19' Simplexity
This wine has a cherry and raspberry flavor. The body is OK, tanins are low and acidity is high. Overall, it's a pretty good blend.

This wine has a plum nose and flavor with an earthly finish. It has medium acidity, high tanins and an OK body.
